Hi,
Tuesday, I picked up a baby Silkie Bantam chicken from a friend. I was surprised when my wife said she would be ok with it living in our house. She was afraid it would be too lonely. We named her Coco, since she is brown and black. We had to keep an eye on her (hopefully) while our cats were inside so it wouldn't "dissapear" lol. Our dog was outside the window, and must have been able to hear the chick chirping, because she was getting excited. The chick also made a few escapes from her box during the night and the next day.
Wednesday, I went back to my friends house, and picked up an older Silkie Bantam, and another baby Silkie Bantam. The Older Bantam is white(We are thinking of calling her Marshmellow, or Snowball.), and the second baby is all black (Forgot what name we came up with.). Coco came with me, and was happy when she saw the Mommy Bantam, and the other baby. During the trip back home, the three seemed to get along well, and when I got home, I looked and the two baby chicks were under the mommy staying warm.
Thursday, It pretty much rained all day, and the 3 new chickens stayed in the garage. The other Chickens we have stayed in their setup, and kept knocking over their water bowls! >< Hopefully we can get an enclosure made in our garage soon to hold younger chickens, possibly add more spots for chickens to lay, and one day a goat.
